Pat Hoven, Corporate Community Partnerships
President

Pat formed Corporate Community Partnerships in 2000, a consulting business committed to helping clients leverage community involvement to best serve stakeholders—business, customers, and shareholders. Through her business, Pat helps clients design and implement contributions programs, develop strategic plans for community relations programs, assess and recommend issue areas of social responsibility, and build alliances in collaboration around community issues.

In addition, Pat is an affiliate consultant of the TCC Group, whose mission is to develop strategies and programs that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations, philanthropies and corporate citizenship programs to achieve social impact.

Other Professional Experience
Prior to forming her business, Pat was Vice President of Social Responsibility for Honeywell. Her responsibilities while at Honeywell for over 20 years included Executive Director and President of the Honeywell Foundation and Vice President of Community Relations and Local Government Affairs.

In addition to her role at Honeywell, Pat has gained a diverse range of experience with nonprofit and corporate clients including: National Campaign Against Youth Violence, American Jamaican Chamber of Commerce, Catholic Community Foundation, Amgen Mortenson Family Foundation, Phillips Partnership, Northwest Airlines, Toro, RBC Dain Rauscher, and Texaco-Chevron.

Community Activities

  • Pat was the Convener and Chair of Minnesota HEALS, a non-profit organization seeking to decrease violent crime in the Twin Cities metropolitan area through the active involvement of a committed group of business, government, and community leaders.

  • Pat is a former member of the Advisory Board for the Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College, whose goal is to help business leverage its social, economic and human assets to ensure both its success and a more just and sustainable world.

  • In 1999, Pat served as the Chair of the Contributions Council for The Conference Board, a non-profit group that creates and disseminates knowledge about management and the marketplace to help businesses strengthen their performance and better serve society.

  • Pat has served as a member of the United Way of America’s Corporate Associates Committee.

  • Former member of the Corporate Committee for the Council on Foundations, an organization providing leadership expertise, legal services and networking opportunities to grant-making foundations and giving programs around the world.

  • Pat served on the Leadership Council for The Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network, which engages and mobilizes millions of volunteers who are helping to solve serious social problems in thousands of communities around the country.

  • Pat served as a board member for the Courage Center and the Courage Center Foundation. The mission of Courage Center, a not-for-profit rehabilitation organization, is to empower people with physical disabilities to reach for their full potential in every aspect of life.

  • Former President of the Minnesota Women’s Economic Roundtable.

  • In addition, Pat has served as a board member for numerous organizations, including: the University of Minnesota YMCA and the Metro YWCA, Minnesota Early Learning Design, Cricket Theater, Illusion Theater, the Sister Kenny Foundation, Minneapolis Downtown Council, Minneapolis Initiative Against Racism Leadership Board, National Retiree Volunteer Coalition, the United Way of Minneapolis Area, Plymouth Church Neighborhood Foundation, and as a mentor for MenTTium 100.

Speaking Engagements and Awards
Pat has been a presenter at numerous national and local conferences, including Business for Social Responsibility, Conference Board, Council on Foundations, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Pat has received numerous awards, both local and national for her work, including: the U.S. Department of Justice Award for Public Service, a Minneapolis Award for Contribution to the City, an Appreciation Award given by the Minneapolis Police Department, an Unsung Hero Award by the United Way of Minneapolis, and has been recognized by the Hennepin County Board of Commissioner for Leadership in Minnesota HEALS. She has also been named a Woman of Distinction—an award given by Twin Cities Business Monthly, KARE 11 TV, and Minneapolis / St.Paul Magazine.

Education
Pat received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
